Kirlian Photography

Kirlian photography, also called electrophotography, is the physical effect caused by a high voltage corona discharge on photographic film placed on an electrically charged metal plate. Since its discovery in 1939 by Russian inventor Semyon Kirlian, many studies in psychology, medicine, and parapsychology have been conducted using this technique.

Fact:
Corona discharges from humans, detached leafs, and even coins have been photographed. In humans, research suggests that different colors might be related to mood or state health.
